Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information BillCheck, operated by Karthik Mogera (trading as BillCheck), collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and the BillCheck application.
1. Information we collect
- Account and business details: your name, email, phone, business name and type, address, GSTIN, FSSAI or licence numbers, and logo.
- Business data you enter: menu items and prices, staff names and PINs, tables, inventory, expenses, bills and receipts, and the customer or patient details you record (for example name and mobile number).
- Payment records: plan, amount, date, status and Razorpay payment identifiers for subscription payments. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by Razorpay and are not stored by us.
- Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address, browser, and error and print-job records) used to run and secure the service.
2. How we use it
- To create your account, provide the billing service and apply your plan limits.
- To process subscription payments and keep payment history.
- To send service emails such as sign-up, password reset (OTP) and important notices.
- To provide support, keep the service secure, detect abuse and fix problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your data and we do not use your customers' details for our own marketing.
3. Who processes data for us
We use trusted providers to run BillCheck: Razorpay (payments), an email delivery provider (service emails), and cloud hosting and database providers. They process data only to provide their service to us. Bills you choose to share on WhatsApp are sent through WhatsApp and are subject to its terms.
4. Your customers' data
For the customer and patient details you enter, you are the one deciding why and how they are used and we act as your service provider. Please make sure you have the consent or legal basis you need.
5. Storage, security and retention
Data is stored on secured servers and sent over HTTPS. Passwords are stored in hashed form. Access is limited by login and role. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password. We keep your data while your account exists and for a reasonable period afterwards so you can resume, and longer where the law requires us to keep records (for example payment records).
6. Cookies and local storage
BillCheck uses your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember settings and printer preferences on your device. We do not use it for advertising.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to export it, and you can withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, subject to the law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). Contact us at support@billcheck.in. Some records may need to be kept to meet legal obligations.
8. Children
BillCheck is for businesses and is not directed to children under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email.
